
The , a co-educational K-8 school, which teaches according to 'Catholic values,' just launched a year-long teaching fellowship, set to start in the 2011 - 2012 school year.
The fellowship comes with a competitive salary, and will provide teaching and management opportunities. Here's how the school puts it:
"The teaching fellow will work closely with Presentation’s Director and Founding Director to learn what is involved in starting and growing an independent elementary and middle school; they will co-teach an elementary grade; they will focus on providing project-based learning approaches within the context of the Presentation curriculum that address the individual learning needs of both boys and girls; they will explore through research, seminars and workshops, the implementation of single–sex education best practices within a coed environment; they will attend professional development opportunities on teaching science at the elementary level; they will develop an extracurricular activity or program that supports community service consistent with the school’s mission; and they will collaborate with experienced staff members on educational priorities as determined by the Administration, Board priorities and accreditation requirements."

The Presentation School is targeting the fellowship to the bright young things coming out of competitive training programs including Teach for America and credential programs at Notre Dame University, Notre Dame de Namur University, Dominican College, USF, Stanford University.
The school says that they're looking for candidates with "a passion for educating young students, a commitment to the values and mission of The Presentation School, and high levels of energy and creativity."

Though the fellowship lasts for one year, the school may consider renewal or long-term job opportunities once the fellow finishes the program.
