Earthquake Sunday in Geysers Area

The quake at 12:30 p.m. had a magnitude of 2.1.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.1 struck Sunday afternoon in Sonoma County near The Geysers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 12:30 p.m. and had a depth of about 1.9 miles according to the USGS.

The earthquake was centered less than a mile southeast of The Geysers and about 24 miles northwest of Santa Rosa.
