Burglary: Two 17-year-old boys entered Radio Shack at 1:23 p.m., reported the store manager. While one of the boys asked a question, the other boy, a resident of Boyes Hot Springs, tried to cut two Crossfade M-80 headphones, valued at $199, from a display case. The manager confronted the boy, who ran from the store and took off in a Honda. Police found the car and pulled it over; it contained a pair of the headphones that the driver had stolen on March 19. He admitted to the earlier theft, telling cops he had to do it to "pay off a civil demand" for an earlier theft, at WalMart.The boy was charged with one felony count of burglary.

Violation: A Sonoma resident was cited for walking a dog in the Plaza.

Safe Skating: Police issued three tickets to youths skateboarding the in the Maxwell Park skate park without wearing a helmet.

Drunk in Public: A bartender at Town Square reported that two men, described as Hispanic males wearing kitchen clothing, one with a backpack, were trying to kick in the back door of the bar. Police arrived on scene and found one of the young men, Juan Migel Farfan, 29, sitting at the bar. Farfan, a Petaluma resident, appeared intoxicated and irate. He was charged with being drunk in public and transported to Sonoma County Jail – but not before he urinated in the back of the patrol car.

Possession of Marijuana: A teacher noticed one of her students was acting funny and smelled suspiciously of weed. She reported the student, a 15-year-old Sonoma girl, to administration. They searched her backpack and found a plastic bag holding a marijuana smoking pipe, a cigarette lighter and a prescription bottle filled with marijuana buds and several chunks of hashish. She was cited for possession of cannabis and possession of marijuana on school grounds and was referred to Youth and Family Services.

Tuesday, March 27

Identity Theft: A Sonoma resident tried to file his taxes, but the IRS said his taxes had already been filed. He reported the incident, worried that someone had access, and was using, his social security number. 

Theft by Access Card: A Sonoma resident reported that his debit card had been used for 11 unauthorized charges at southern California based businesses between March 19 and 26. The charges totaled $1,100 and included Chevron stations in Mission Hills, Norwalk and North Hollywood as well as a Home Depot in Baldwin Park.

Bitter Ex: A Sonoma man reported that someone had posted nude pictures of him on craigslist.org, without his consent. The man discovered the security breech when his current girlfriend received an e-mail, instructing her to check the men-seeking-men section of the community posting site. There she found a personal ad with graphic pictures of her spouse. The man told police he suspects an ex-girlfriend placed the posting, since she had access to the photographs. Police have attempted to make contact with the ex-girlfriend.

Harassment: A resident of the 19,200 block of Junipero Serra reported that at 3:20 a.m. someone was knocking and yelling at their door. Police arrived and found Ryan Fay wandering holding a large fence plank. Police asked Fay, 30, why he was in the neighborhood; he said he thought he was knocking on his own door. Fay seemed disoriented, telling officers that his fence board was a 'stick' and that he often "carries objects from nature." Fay was arrested, charged with public intoxication and was booked into Sonoma County Jail.
