More Details Emerge on Fatal Shooting Involving Deputy in Lynwood

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) deputy is reported to have shot and killed a man in a shooting exchange that took place on the 4000 block of Agnes Street on Tuesday, April 8.

The deputy made an attempt to contact the suspect at 1:39 p.m., said deputy Mark Pope of the LASD Headquarters Bureau to City News Service. Authorities accuse the deceased suspect of pulling a gun and shooting at the deputy. 

The man was taken to a hospital, but was eventually declared dead. The deputy did not sustain any injuries.

LASD homicide detectives were at the scene for several hours investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. No statement was provided to Patch by the detectives despite our requests.
