New Mcdonald's Unveiled in South Gate
More jobs were created as result of the construction, said the owner.
The newly designed McDonald’s restaurant at 3309 Tweedy Blvd., South Gate opened its doors to the public a few days ago.
On Thursday, March 14, South Gate Mayor Bill De Witt, City Manager Michael Flad, South Gate Chief of Police Randy Davis and other local dignitaries were present for a small ribbon cutting ceremony at the restaurant.
Richard Ruby, the owner and operator of the restaurant employs a total 81 employees at the location, and is the process of hiring another 5 to 10. This new building also allowed him to employ 40 more people than the previous Mcdonald's restaurant structure that stood in its place.

De Witt expressed delight at the possibility of more jobs.
"They employ a lot of people, and jobs are a good thing," said De Witt.
