Power Outage Hits Residents in South Gate

UPDATE at 4:00 p.m.: Power has been restored to the area. 

HUNTINGTON PARK (CNS) - A power outage today affecting about 29,000 Southern California Edison customers apparently was caused by lightning strikes, utility officials said.

Crews were working to end the outage, reported shortly before 10 a.m., and continuing late this morning, SCE's Dan Chung said.

The outage is concentrated in the Huntington Park area, but also is hitting customers in Bell, Bell Gardens and South Gate, Chung said.
