Spectrum Calls Lynwood Network Fiber Cuts an Act of Domestic Terrorism
Felony Critical Infrastructure Cuts Impact Connectivity for Law Enforcement, Emergency Services and 911

Early this morning Spectrum’s fiber optic lines were intentionally cut, disrupting connectivity to 911, emergency services, including fire, sheriff and police departments, healthcare facilities and hospitals, educational institutions, as well as other services for customers and businesses in Lynwood and surrounding areas in Los Angeles County.
“These criminal attacks on our vital communications networks are intentional and cause outages that put lives at risk,” said Tom Monaghan, Executive Vice President, Field Operations for Charter. “This is a pervasive and persistent threat to families and businesses across Southern California that cannot be tolerated, and such life-threatening events should be declared acts of domestic terrorism and prosecuted accordingly. We need the continued support of law enforcement, an increased commitment to prosecuting the criminals behind these attacks and help from the public by reporting suspicious activity when they see it.”
Safeguarding our communications infrastructure is vital for creating safe, resilient communities, and Spectrum is calling on everyone to stay alert, take proactive measures, and swiftly report any incidents related to this widespread issue. To thwart this growing threat, Spectrum is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information related to these criminal infrastructure attacks that lead to an arrest. Anyone with information can contact Spectrum at 833-404-TIPS (8477) or reach out to local law enforcement.
