Family Connections Opens Family Resource Hub in Daly City

Free, high-quality early learning classes and family support services in response to identified community needs.

DALY CITY, CA – Peninsula Family Connections has opened its newest Family Resource Hub at the Susan B. Anthony Elementary School in Daly City. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Monday, February 12 at 11:45 a.m. to mark the occasion, featuring guest speaker David Canepa, San Mateo County Board of Supervisors Trustee.

Family Connections is a non-profit organization that partners with families who are expecting or have children from birth through age five to nurture resilience by providing high-quality services in early childhood education, mental health, and family support in under-resourced communities in San Mateo County. Founded 30 years ago, Family Connections has sites in Redwood City, Palo Alto, and now in Daly City, as well as virtual programming.

Family Resource Centers or Hubs serve as centralized locations where families can access a range of programs and services tailored to their unique needs. San Mateo County has made serving families through Family Resource Hubs a top priority.

"The opening of our Family Resource Hubs is a direct response to San Mateo County’s commitment to providing services to families through multiple access points,” says Family Connections Executive Director Eric Valladares. “We chose to locate our newest resource hub in Daly City because of the expressed need of the community for more programming and support for families with children from birth through age five. By partnering with the Jefferson Elementary School District, our goal is to fill a critical gap in the community.” (see Daly City Neighborhood Action Plan 2019-2024)
