• Police identify man shot by South San Francisco cops (eastbaytimes.com) — South San Francisco police have identified the man shot by officers on Sandra Court as 28-year-old Luis Francisco-Manzo, who is now recovering in a hospital. Officials released body-camera footage and named the two officers involved while the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office continues to investigate the Dec. 8 shooting.
   

• Bay Area Businessmen Charged with Scheme To Evade Millions in Customs Fees on Chinese Goods (sanjoseinside.com) — A South San Francisco resident is among those indicted in a federal case alleging a years-long scheme to avoid more than $109 million in customs duties on Chinese-made building materials. Prosecutors say Bay Area companies used shell firms, misclassification, and Malaysian transshipment to disguise the products’ origin, and authorities have also issued a massive pre-penalty notice tied to the alleged fraud.
