Peninsula Restaurant Under Renovation Catches Fire

DALY CITY, CA β€”A restaurant under renovation in Daly City caught fire early Thursday morning, according to the North County Fire Authority.

Firefighters responded to the fire reported at 3:20 a.m. in a commercial building at 2368 Junipero Serra Blvd.

Crews determined the building was unoccupied, and they were able to extinguish the fire, then remained at the scene for more than an hour to make sure it did not reignite.

The North County Fire Authority, which serves the cities of Brisbane and Pacifica along with Daly City, determined the fire was accidental in nature and was the result of wood oil-soaked rags that combusted.

No injuries were reported among firefighters during the response, fire officials said.
