Bay Area Police Recover Stolen Phone And Computer After Tracking Them

Police stopped a BART train in South San Francisco to prevent the suspects from escaping with the stolen items.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA β€” A South San Francisco resident called the police last week to report they were actively tracking their recently stolen phone and laptop.

Police said the victim told them the tracking showed the stolen items were currently in the area of El Camino Real and Hickey Boulevard.

Officers said they quickly located two suspects at the BART station and stopped the train to prevent their escape, recovering the stolen property.

The suspects were identified as two 16-year-old boys from Belmont who were on juvenile probation and believed to be responsible for other property crimes in San Mateo County.

"Thanks to a fast response and teamwork, several stolen items were returned to their rightful owners," police said.
