Trespassers Started Fire At An Abandon Home In San Mateo County
Fire officials said they found fire and smoke coming from the basement of the home.
DALY CITY, CA — Firefighters put out a fire Wednesday night at an abandoned Daly City home that authorities said was caused by trespassers trying to cook in the basement of the residence.
At around 10:44 p.m. on Wednesday, crews said they responded to the fire at 101 Wellington Ave. Firefighters said they found smoke and flames coming from the basement of the two-story structure, according to the North County Fire Authority, which serves the cities of Daly City, Brisbane and Pacifica.
Crews confirmed there was no one inside and were able to extinguish the fire.

Authorities said through an investigation they learned that trespassers went into the home and started a fire to cook in the basement.
