Local rents remain well below both California and national medians, with one- and two-bedroom units still significantly cheaper than elsewhere in the state and country.
   

• San Joaquin General Hospital earns top maternity honors (lodinews.com) — Families in Stockton now have fresh reassurance about local maternity care: San Joaquin General Hospital has been rated “high performing” for maternity services by U.S. News & World Report and recorded zero catheter-associated urinary tract infections, a distinction shared by only one other hospital in the county. These honors reflect strong outcomes on C-sections, newborn complications, breastfeeding, and infection prevention.
   

• San Rafael mobile home tenants sue landlord (pressdemocrat.com) — A Stockton-based company, Harmony Communities, is at the center of a new lawsuit by San Rafael mobile home tenants who allege illegal evictions and rent hikes that violate local rent control rules. While the case plays out in Marin County, it could shape how this Stockton firm manages mobile home parks and rent disputes across California.
