Heat Wave Coming To Studio City, SoCal Region

Temperatures are expected to hover around the low 90s from Thursday until Sunday.

STUDIO CITY, CA โ€” Another sweltering heat wave is headed to Los Angeles and all across the southwestern United States. The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Thursday through Sunday to many desert communities, where some temperatures are expected to climb as high as 117 degrees Saturday. The San Fernando Valley can expect temperatures in the upper 90s until Sunday.

The heat wave is on track to be the hottest of the season, National Weather Service meteorologist Eric Boldt told the Los Angeles Times. Additionally, gusty winds and low humidity are increasing fire risks throughout Southern California. The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory throughout much of the LA County coasts and areas near I-5.

In Studio City, temperatures will climb to 91 Thursday and stay there until Saturday before dropping to 86 on Sunday, according to AccuWeather. Temperatures will drop to 82 Monday, but reach the upper 80s for the rest of the week - and likely the rest of the summer. Winds anywhere from 5-15 mph are expected during this period.
