Paul Krekorian Weighs in on Carpenter School's Fraudulent Enrollment Problems

Paul Krekorian has a second grader going to Carpenter Community Charter School. The Los Angeles City Council member just moved to a house in Studio City and is in the district of the high-achieving public charter-affiliated school.
That is why he thinks it is "nuts" that the people who have moved into the area may face a lottery system to get into their neighborhood school, while others have fradulently enrolled their children in the school.

The meeting was organized by Alan Taylor a local Realtor with the John Aaroe Group in Sherman Oaks. Alan is a fourth generation resident of the area and co-founded Watch2.org a neighborhood watch advocacy group designed to support watch groups become more effective through the use of online tools.To sign up for the areas Watch2 newsletter, send an email to ataylor@watch2.org. Meanwhile, the application period for this year for residents will end on March 22, for Carpenter. Resident applicants who complete an online information sheet by this date will initiate the application and address verification process. Those residents whose addresses can be verified will be included in a lottery should there be a need for one. Resident applicants who do not complete the online information sheet by March 22, will be placed at the end of the lottery wait list after address verification. The non-resident application process will be similar to previous years.
