School Fundraiser Gets Kids to Move It, Move It

Parents and faculty get together to encourage movement in school.

A Dance-A-Thon helped raise more than $5,000 for students last week at a unique fundraiser at Valley View Elementary School.

Lucie Murray, of Moms in Motion, was a parent who spearheaded the idea for the fundraiser. Sponsors bought $20 stars that wee displayed with their names on it, and placed on the Wall of Fame on the playground.

Then, the kids came out to dance, with a live DJ, dancers, a red carpet, glitter and more. Also catch Principal Susan Kim in among the students, too.
