Firefighters extinguished the house fire that sent burning timber down the canyon and continued to battle spot fires in the area.

STUDIO CITY, CA โ A large house fire caused a home to collapse down a Studio City Hillside, spreading the blaze to nearby vegetation and buildings Wednesday night.
The blaze broke out just before 9 p.m. at a four-story home in the 3,600 block of Sunswept Drive. The flames caused the stilts supporting the hillside home to collapse, sending an avalanche of burning timber down the ravine..
Firefighters were able to extinguish the house fire, but multiple other buildings and nearby brush caught fire.

It was immediately clear how many neighboring buildings burned.
Residents near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Mulholland Drive and Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, were initially warned to prepare for evacuation, according to Los Angeles city officials. However, evacuation orders were not issued as of 11 p.m. Wednesday as crews appeared to get the upper hand on the spot fires.
