Beloved Temecula Winery To Open Its Pumpkin Farm Next Month

Yes, it will soon be that time of year already. What to know about Temecula's premiere pumpkin farm.

TEMECULA, CA — It's already time to start planning for the fall equinox, which will coincide with the seasonal opening of Peltzer Winery's pumpkin farm.

Squash, gourds, hay bales, games, photo opportunities, a petting zoo, shaved ice and of course, pumpkins, will all be available to the public on Sept. 21.

The farm will be open for a $2 admission fee from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Once inside, guests can enjoy the petting farm ($4 per person, with $1 cups of animal treats), pony rides ($10, 70-pound limit), Peltzer Mining Co. gem panning ($6), Peltzer Express train rides ($6), and John Deere carts ($5, 70-pound limit). The Tractor Garden and pig races are free to watch, with pig races taking place Fridays at 5 and 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m., 1, 3, 5 and 7 p.m.

Carnival games will be $3 each, and treats like Peltzer Sweet Shack shaved ice ($5) and kettle corn (prices vary) will be available. Pumpkin painting workshops will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. for $25 per person, with no walk-ins allowed.

The pumpkin farm will be open Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. (with the petting farm open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
