What inspired you to launch your art gallery and how does it fit into your career journey?
I have been drawing since I was 4 1/2 years old. I was commissioned for my first magazine cover when I was 11 by a neighbor who was an editor. Since then it has been my career.
What kind of mission drives your gallery and motivates you in the creation of your artwork?
I try to improve my skills with every new drawing or painting I create. My great aunt fine artist Julia Greenwood taught me never to be satisfied with my work or I would stop improving. I took her advice to heart. I have been drawing for 46 years.
What are some of your favorite pieces of artwork that you have commissioned or produced?
Wedding paintings from photos I take at the wedding or those that are sent to me from a distance. Some of my paintings will be on display Sept. 24, 2023 - November 17, 2023 in the Ronald H. Roberts Library in Temecula. I also enjoy my series of fine art beautiful females doing different activities which can be seen and purchased on my website. I had a lot of fun drawing on ABC TV in 2009 and 2010 in the series Dating in the Dark.
As an artist, do you have any advice on creating an original piece or pursuing a career in the arts?
Go through the steps properly. Learn to drawing, anatomy and physiology, practice, practice, practice and spend a lot of time mastering marketing skills.
How do you keep up with industry trends as an artist?
I don't keep up with trends. I create work like the old master's that I revere like Michelangelo.
