DUI Checkpoint Planned In Temecula This Weekend

TEMECULA, CA — A DUI checkpoint is planned in Temecula this week, and motorists caught driving impaired and subsequently convicted will face about $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, authorities announced.

The checkpoint is scheduled from 7 p.m. on July 25 to 1 a.m. on July 26 at an undisclosed location within city limits, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired-driving-related crashes, the law enforcement agency said.

According to the sheriff's department, a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provided funding for the program.
