Hiker Rescued From Trail Near Temecula

A hiker who suffered a medical emergency was airlifted from the Dripping Springs Trail in extreme heat Saturday.

TEMECULA, CA — A hiker who suffered an unspecified medical emergency Saturday was airlifted from a trail east of Temecula.

Emergency crews were alerted at 12:14 p.m. about the hiker, who was trekking the Dripping Springs Trail in the Cleveland National Forest in extreme heat, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The hiker was transported by a fire department helicopter to an awaiting ground ambulance, where the person refused further medical treatment.
