The Joy of Giving Toy Convoy: How Hemet Is Coming Together to Make Christmas Magical
A community-powered holiday convoy brings toys, donations, and Santa to kids across Hemet thanks to Tim Moran Auto Group and city partners

The holiday season is officially underway in Hemet, and this year, something extraordinary is rolling into town—quite literally. The Joy of Giving Toy Convoy, a brand-new community tradition powered by Tim Moran Auto Group, the City of Hemet, and the Hemet Fire Department, is here to make sure every child in our city feels the magic of Christmas.
And let’s be honest… Hemet could use a little extra magic this year.
With rising costs, tighter budgets, and more families experiencing hardship, this convoy isn’t just a festive event—it’s a lifeline of joy. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. It’s a city coming together to prove that kindness still drives us forward.

A Simple Idea That Grew Into Something Beautiful
What started as a conversation between the Tim Moran Auto Group team and city leaders quickly grew into a citywide movement.
“Our community supports us all year long, and this is our chance to give back in a meaningful way,” said Tim Moran, owner of Tim Moran Auto Group. “Every vehicle sold helps put another gift into the hands of a child right here in Hemet. We’re proud to stand with the City and Fire Department to make this a holiday to remember.”

The idea was simple:
Bring the community together, collect toys, raise funds, and deliver holiday cheer directly to children across Hemet—complete with Santa and a Hemet Fire Department escort.
Yes, Santa is coming to town… and he’s riding with the firefighters.
Where the Toys Are Coming From
The auto group has turned its showrooms into holiday giving hubs:
Inside each location sits a bright red collection vehicle—two trucks and an SUV—waiting to be filled with toys donated by the community.
People can drop off new, unwrapped toys during regular business hours. Some choose small toys, some choose big toys, and some simply ask the staff, “What are you short on?” The answer is usually: everything makes a difference.

But the giving doesn’t stop there.
Tim Moran Auto Group has pledged to donate $50 for every vehicle sold from now until December 16th. Every sale adds another toy to a child’s Christmas morning.

A Convoy of Joy: December 17th
On the night of December 17th, something magical will happen.
The Joy of Giving Toy Convoy will travel to five stops across Hemet, with Santa himself greeting children at each location. Fire engines will escort the convoy, lights glowing, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
Kids won’t be coming to a mall to see Santa.
Santa is coming to them.
Families will be able to gather at the announced stops (shared soon via the City of Hemet and Tim Moran Auto Group channels) and celebrate the season together with music, smiles, and of course—toys.
The Mayor’s Message to the Community
The City of Hemet hasn’t held back its excitement about this initiative.
“This is exactly the type of community partnership Hemet is proud to stand behind,” said the Mayor Jackie Peterson of Hemet. “When our businesses, our city, and our fire department come together for our kids, it shows what Hemet is truly about—unity, compassion, and the willingness to step up for one another.”
Those words capture the heart of this entire effort.
This isn’t just a toy drive.
This is Hemet standing up for its children.

More Than a Toy—This Is Hope
At its core, the Joy of Giving Toy Convoy is about more than presents.
It’s about showing children that their community sees them, cares about them, and believes they deserve a magical Christmas.
“This is only the beginning,” said Tim Moran. “Our hope is that every year, this convoy grows bigger and touches even more families. Hemet deserves joy during the holidays—and we’re honored to help deliver it.”
As the Mayor shared, this convoy represents who Hemet is at its best—neighbors lifting each other up during the season of giving.
So, whether you donate a toy, contribute online, or simply cheer from the sidewalk as the convoy passes by, you’re part of something special.
A movement.
A celebration.
A bit of Christmas magic rolling through our city.
