Malibu Barbie Truck Rolls Into Temecula This Weekend
The brand's iconic "California surfer-girl" doll turns 52 this year.

TEMECULA, CA — Barbie fans of all ages have an opportunity to celebrate the brand's iconic "California girl" this weekend when the "Barbie Truck Totally Throwback Malibu Tour" rolls into Temecula.
The promotional event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Promenade Temecula near Edwards Cinemas and Red Robin will feature the Malibu Barbie Truck packed with 70s-themed Malibu Barbie beach apparel and accessories. Pieces range in price from $12 to $75, according to organizers.
Toymaker Mattel launched the first Barbie doll in 1959, and Malibu Barbie debuted in 1971 with "a new face sculpt, including the addition of an open smile with pearly white teeth, and, thanks to the groundswell of the feminist movement and female empowerment, her sparkling blue eyes faced-forward for the first time," according to the company.
