Temecula Mom Chased College Dream at 40, Made Ker 5 Kids So Proud

TEMECULA, CA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Brianna Granados, who nominated Vanessa Martinez of Temecula.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom has done everything in her power to make sure we never go without anything for the past 25 years. She is the greatest mother ever and has always fought for us to succeed. She has supported my dreams and the dreams of my other 4 siblings. She is the most welcoming and loving person you’ll ever meet. She has shown us that no matter what, always chase your dreams. She went to college at 40 years old and graduated, and I have never been so proud of her.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She always puts others first, and I believe she deserves this recognition. She’s always been there to recognize others and unfortunately when she was graduating from school, due to COVID, she wasn’t able to walk. I want her to be recognized all over Temecula.
