Temecula Offers Way For Families To Honor Their Loved Servicemembers
Residents can publically recognize U.S. servicemembers through two ongoing programs.

TEMECULA, CA — Do you know active-duty U.S. military personnel and/or veterans?
Ahead of May 27 Memorial Day, the city of Temecula is inviting residents to publically recognize U.S. servicemembers through two ongoing programs.
First, the city offers a Military Banner Program. The large banners are displayed in town on Main Street (Civic Center to the Main Street Bridge) and each features a servicemember's official military photo, along with name, rank and military branch. The banners remain in place for six to 12 months, depending on the installation date, and are eventually presented to honorees (or applicants) at the city’s annual Veterans Day event.

Anyone can order a banner, but they are reserved for active duty and veterans residing in Temecula or servicemembers related to immediate family living in the city. The program is free and banners can be requested year-round.

The city also offers a way to remember veterans at Temecula Duck Pond (28250 Ynez Road). The steps and access ramp leading to the park's Letters Home Memorial are dedicated as Temecula’s Path of Honor. The path features engraved pavers memorializing veterans.

The fee to purchase a paver is $185; the donation ensures the pavers will remain in perpetuity.
Orders can be placed year-round and are consolidated, engraved, and placed on the path annually each November. City of residence is not restricted to Temecula.
The deadline to reserve a 2024 paver is Friday, Aug. 9. Visit TemeculaCA.gov/Path to order a paver.
