Vietnam War-Era Vets To Be Honored At Temecula Ceremony

TEMECULA, CA — A pinning ceremony in recognition of Vietnam War-era veterans will be held Aug. 2 at the Temecula Civic Center.

Veterans will receive pins from Rep. Darrell Issa as part of an effort to formally honor those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975.

The pinning ceremonies were established by the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration Program.

In order to qualify for a pinning, a veteran, or his or her family member, must submit an application, which can be found at issa.house.gov/services/vietnam-war-commemoration.

To confirm eligibility, Issa's staff recommended applicants first visit www.vietnamwar50th.com.

Pinnings can also be done posthumously.

"As a matter of principle, our nation must express its gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all our veterans," said Issa, R-Vista.

"As it is nearly 50 years since the conclusion of the Vietnam War, this is an ideal time for Americans to unite in the cause of recognizing, in a unique way, the valor and commitment of Vietnam-era veterans."
