Pedestrian Critically Hurt In Union City
Police believe the man was having a mental health crisis.

UNION CITY, CA — A man was critically injured in Union City on Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle.
Officers with the Union City Police Department were nearby when the collision happened, which occurred on Mission Boulevard at 8:11 a.m.
The man was transported to a hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition Thursday.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Prior to the collision, officers had responded to a nearby Starbucks at 33115 Mission Boulevard to investigate a disturbance.

Police said they were approached by the man who was later injured in the collision, and said the man was acting aggressively and demonstrating erratic behavior.
Police tried to speak with the man twice, but he walked away from them both times.
