Pedestrian Killed In Union City

It happened at Alvarado Niles Road and Almaden Boulevard on Monday.

UNION CITY, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in Union City on Monday.

The man was hit at Alvarado Niles Road and Almaden Boulevard. First aid was administered at the scene, but the man died from his injuries, police said in a press release Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police, and did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The crash remained under investigation as of Tuesday evening. Police asked anyone with information about the collision to contact Union City police traffic officer Michael Silva at (510) 675-5222.
