Local Family Looking for Bone Marrow Donor

A 38-year-old man who grew up in Venice is seeking a bone marrow donor to help him with his battle against lymphoma.

Joe Hood is married with two children, and the family resides in Culver City. In October of 2012, Hood had a bone marrow transplant, but he has relapsed and another donor is needed.

There will be an event to find a possible match for Hood, where people will simply provide a cheek swab. 

The drive will be held on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6p.m. at WISH Charter School, located at 8820 Sepulveda Eastway, Los Angeles.
