Five Things: Mutts Day, Venice Youth Build Graduates, Lock Your Doors

1. Congratulations to the 17 students who recently graduated from the Venice Youth Build program. Since August 2012, the students have made incredible strides toward achieving stability, confidence and direction through education, construction training, community service and leadership development.

2. Did you know today is Mutts Day? You may ask why… because mutts deserve their day in the spotlight as much as a purebred dog. Every dog has his or her day so today is it for you mixed breed. Do you plan to do anything special to celebrate your mutt today? Let us know in the comments.

3. Lock your doors! LAPD Pacific Division is reporting there were 18 burglaries in the area last week. Be vigilant.

4. Congratulations to the Babe Ruth 14 U Baseball Allstars that include players from Venice, still pitching and hitting their way through the regional championships.
