Funds Needed For Los Angeles Crash Survivor

Sage Matthews will need months of physical therapy following a motorcycle crash in Venice.

VENICE, CA -- Donations are needed Tuesday for a Los Angeles woman who suffered major injuries in a motorcycle crash. A GoFundMe page created for Sage Matthews said she was struck by a car while riding her motorcycle on April 18.

She "sustained multiple pelvic fractures and soft tissue damage throughout her body," the GoFundMe page said. "Given the extent of her injuries, she will require daily physical therapy for the next 3-6 months in order to regain her ability to walk."

The GoFundMe page is asking the public to help raise $35,000 as her insurance does not cover the cost of physical therapy.

"During this time she will also be unable to work much less tackle the demands of normal day to day life," the fundraising page said. "Sage is a loving, caring, compassionate human who always puts others before herself, but now she needs our help."

As of Tuesday, the fundraiser received more than $17,000 in donations.
