Flight to LA from Seattle Diverted Due to Disruptive Passenger

A Compass Airlines flight that was headed to LA had to be diverted to Portland on Wednesday after a passenger tried to enter the cockpit.

A flight that was scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles from Seattle on Wednesday night had to be diverted to Portland after a passenger repeatedly tried to enter the plane's cockpit.

Witnesses reported that the man, whose name has not been released, had tried several times to enter the cockpit of the Compass Airlines flight for unknown reasons.

Passengers and crew members reportedly restrained the main until the plane landed at Portland International Airport, where the man was taken into custody by airport police, where he remains today.

The man's name, and what charges will be filed against him, if any, is expected to be announced later Thursday or Friday, the FBI has told Patch and other Portland media.
