Man Killed In Mar Vista Hit And Run Identified

A 50- year-old man who was struck and killed by the hit-and-run driver of a black SUV.

MAR VISTA, CA —Coroner's officials Sunday released the name of a 50- year-old man who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist in Mar Vista.

The pedestrian was identified as Felipe Nunez-Garcia of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The collision was reported just before 9 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Venice Boulevard, according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

Nunez-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene, Herrera said.

The vehicle involved was a black SUV, but a detailed description of the SUV or driver was not immediately available, Herrera said.
