'No Is Beautiful' Mural Debuts In Venice
A poet and artist share a simple message with Venice: "No is Beautiful."

VENICE, CA — What would it look like if we prioritized balance? A new mural debuting in Venice Monday is a real reminder to set boundaries and focus on self-worth.
It features Arielle Estoria’s poem, “The Beautiful Art of No,” and is brought to life by visual artist Ashley Uananiau Lukashevsky. The mural is located at Speedway and Pacific Avenue and sponsored by Pure Leaf.
The message is inspired by Pure Leaf’s belief that saying “no” to the things that don’t matter, so people can say “yes” to the things that do. It comes down to a mindset: setting boundaries and prioritizing what’s important to you in order to achieve your personal and professional goals and prevent burnout.

Patch asked the poet and artist about the deeper meaning.
“As an LA-based entrepreneur, I’ve previously succumbed to societal pressures to say 'yes' when I wanted to say 'no,'" Arielle Estoria told Patch.

"I’ve since learned the strength of saying “no” – not only does it alleviate stress, but it unlocks opportunities to explore new passions and achieve a healthy work-life balance," Estoria said.
"Together with Pure Leaf, I hope these murals will remind women that poetry carries great strength, and that leveraging the power of 'no' empowers them to recognize their worth," Estoria said.
Pure Leaf is teaming up with Ladies Who Launch, a nonprofit that supports women and non-binary business owners by providing inspiration, education, funding, and community engagement opportunities. Through the partnership with Ladies Who Launch, Pure Leaf will commit $100,000 to start the “No Burnout, More Balance Program.”
This program will provide grants to business owners within the Ladies Who Launch community, as a way to prioritize balance, ease stress, and relieve burnout. Recipients, participants of LWL’s 2021 Launch Program, can put the funds toward anything that alleviates their workload and prevents burnout – whether it be childcare, mental health counseling, wellness, mindfulness, or community-building activities.
People are invited to share how they will embrace the "beauty of no" and can tag @PureLeaf, @ArielleEstoria, @ashluka, and #noisbeautiful.
