Tributes for Born x Raised Co-Founder Posted on Social Media

Social media tributes for Chris "Spanto" Printup, the co-founder of Venice-based Born x Raised, were posted after reports of his death.

VENICE, CA — Social media tributes for Chris "Spanto" Printup, the co-founder of Venice-based Born x Raised, are being posted Wednesday after reports of his death surfaced.

Members of the hip-hop and fashion communities are posting on Twitter and Instagram memories of Printup. There has been no official announcement from Born x Raised regarding Printup's death, however the online site Complex reported around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday he had died.

Ben Baller, hip-hop mogul, jeweler, and self-proclaimed "K-town Huslter" from Los Angeles, posted on Twitter a photo of Printup and a caption that read, "RIP to the homie Spanto!"

Born x Raised co-founder Alex "2Tone" Erdmann posted several photos of his business partner on Instagram. One post on social media was a photo shared by photographer Atiba Jefferson. The post read, "You will always be with us my heart goes out to family and friends. I love you and will see you again."

Born x Raised has nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram and has become a major L.A.-based fashion brand, with collaboration projects with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, LAFC and Rams. Born x Raised also has partnerships with Converse, Levi's and New Era Cap Company.

Actress and model Julia Fox and social media comedian Jay Mendoza are among those who have posted tributes to Printup on social media.
