VENICE, CA — Over 100 surfers are set to conquer the waves at the Venice Surfing Association's Breakwater Open Saturday morning.
The first heat will enter the water at 8 a.m. at the Venice Pier. The event is the latest in the VSA's contest series, which began in February with Grom Day and was followed by the Southside Classic, the Summer Showdown and the Northside Pier Fest.
"Every contest is a manifestation of our dream, weaving community spirit, talent, and local enterprise,” said Alix Gucovsky, co-founder of VSA.
