WALNUT CREEK, CA — Patch reader Fran Guidry sent in this photo he titled "Acalanes Morning."

The picture was taken Tuesday morning on the Briones to Mt. Diablo Regional Trail, just above Ramsay Circle in Walnut Creek, Fran wrote in an email to Patch.

The trail is part of the East Bay Regional Park District. It connects Briones Regional Park to Mt. Diablo State Park and serves the communities of Lafayette and Walnut Creek. Leaving Briones, the trail passes over Acalanes Ridge —Walnut Creek Open Space — into Larkey Park and past the Alexander Lindsey Museum
