WALNUT CREEK, CA — Patch reader Fran Guidry sent this picture of "coneheads" in Walnut Creek.

"Have the Coneheads evolved from the humanoids of the 1993 movie? Is this another attempt to locate and restore their crashed spaceship?? Or have our neighbors simply surrendered to the charms of Aeonium 'Cyclops'?" Fran wrote in an email to Patch.

"I pass these beauties every time I travel down Mallard Drive and each time I think I need to grab a picture," he wrote. "I finally pulled over and fired off a couple of snaps with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. A little edit in good old Irfanview and here's the result. The street has been an explosion of gorgeous flowering this spring, but I think these succulents top them all."
