Golden State Killer: A Timeline Of Terror

Decades after a man single-handedly terrorized residents of California, police said they believe they've caught the suspect. The Golden State Killer, who was also dubbed the East Area Rapist and the Original Nightstalker, has been identified as 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo, who is in custody Wednesday, authorities said.

DeAngelo is accused of at least 12 murders, 45 rapes and more than 120 residential burglaries that happened from 1976 to 1986 throughout the Golden State.

The website coldcase-earons.com listed the dates and locations of each of his crimes below. The majority of the listed crimes were rapes but the alleged crime spree ended in murders.
