Man Jailed In Connection With Walnut Creek, Contra Costa Burglaries
Keith Stevenson, 42, has been charged with three counts of felony burglary and one count of reckless evading.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Brentwood man is facing charges in connection with residential burglaries in Walnut Creek and parts of unincorporated Contra Costa County, Walnut Creek police said Wednesday.
Following an extensive investigation, patrol officers and detectives identified Keith Stevenson, 42, as the suspect in a burglary reported at 10:26 a.m. Jan. 26 in the 400 block of Castle Rock Road in Walnut Creek, police Lt. Holley Connors said in a news release.
Officers arrived on the scene of the burglary within three minutes and saw the suspect driving off so they pursued him eastbound on Ygnacio Valley Road but ended the chase because of the suspect's reckless driving.

Once Stevenson was identified as the burglary suspect and a probable cause warrant was obtained, detectives learned he was also suspected in residential burglaries being investigated by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.
Stevenson was arrested on WCPD's warrant March 7 in San Francisco.

On March 9, Walnut Creek PD and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office jointly presented their cases to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
The DA's Office charged Stevenson with three counts of felony burglary and one count of reckless evading.
Stevenson remained in custody Wednesday with his bail set at $1.87 million, Walnut Creek police said.
