High-Speed Camaro 'Blacks Out' Plates, Escapes From CHP In East Bay At 100 MPH

DUBLIN, CA — Authorities in the East Bay today are asking for help identifying the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro that authorities said fled from a California Highway Patrol officer Wednesday morning.
The black Camaro was speeding at more than 100 m.p.h. early Wednesday on westbound Interstate 580 between Dublin and Castro Valley, according to the CHP.
An officer tried to stop the car at about 8:20 a.m.

CHP said the driver sped away from the officer trying to make the stop.
CHP described the license plate as black with yellow or white writing.

The driver was able to “black out” — or “turn off” — the plate during the pursuit, CHP said.
