Teachers, Mt. Diablo School District Hit An Impasse In Contract Talks
A mediator has been called in to help with the stalled negotiations

The Mt. Diablo Unified School District and its teachers have hit an impasse in their contract negotiations.
A mediator has been called in to assist in the talks between the district and the Mt. Diablo Education Association, according to a story in the Contra Costa Times.
The mediator will examine the district's budget and the proposals from both sides.
The teachers' association is asking for a 7 percent salary hike plus increased medical benefits. The district is offering a 3 percent pay increase with no extra benefits, according to the Times.
There are no face-to-face negotiations scheduled, but the mediator can act as a go-between.
