WALNUT CREEK, CA — There is a new ballot drop box outside Walnut Creek City Hall to add capacity for voters who prefer to drop off their ballots in a secure location during the election season.

The statewide Presidential Primary takes place Tuesday, March 5, but drop-off boxes have been available to voters since Feb. 2.

The city has had a box adjacent to the City Hall parking lot for several election cycles but a new, larger one has been installed at the North Main Street entrance to City Hall. It can hold up to 1,300 ballots, more than twice the capacity of the other box, City Manager Dan Buckshi said.
