2 Arrested After Shooting That Wounded 2 At Church Gathering
Two suspected were booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including attempted murder.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Two Salinas men were arrested for allegedly shooting two others at a Monterey County church.
Monterey County Sheriff's Office said in a press release Friday that 25-year-old Jesus Julian Rios and 26-year-old Regino Mendoza Arce were taken into custody Nov. 3 on allegations they were involved in the shooting at St. Theodore's Catholic Pastoral Center, in the unincorporated community of Chualar.
The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. at a gathering at Grant Street and Scott Street.

Two victims were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to the press release.
"Our detectives immediately took action to identify and find the persons responsible for this tragic incident," Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto said. "It is my hope that our Chualar community can rest easy knowing these individuals are off the street."
