Controlled Vegetation Burn In Monterey County Tuesday: Cal Fire

BREAKING: Are you seeing smoke in the area?

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Cal Fire will conduct a prescribed vegetation burn on a private property in the Gabilan Range east of Soledad in Monterey County on Tuesday. The project is meant to reduce flammable vegetation near the communities of Soledad and Gonzales, as well as increase available water and deer forage, according to Cal Fire officials.

The burn will be dependent on proper weather conditions. Cal Fire officials said they will be in close consultation with the National Weather Service office in Monterey, as well as the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District for the forecast.

Cal Fire will provide updates on the burn on its social media channels, which are available at http://www.facebook.com/CALFIR... or http://twitter.com/CALFIREBEU.
