MARINA, CA — At least one person died in a traffic crash near Marina in Monterey County on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 6:45 a.m., officers were alerted to a collision between two vehicles on Cooper Road east of Marina.
Children inside one of the vehicles suffered injuries due to the crash while the other vehicle did not have any injuries. Shortly after 7 a.m., one of three patients was sent to a hospital by helicopter, the CHP said.

Around 7:10 a.m., authorities confirmed a fatality from the crash, according to the CHP.
