Fire Crews Contain Blaze Near Watsonville At 1.7 Acres
Cal Fire will remain at the scene for the next few days to mop up and monitor heavy timber in the area.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A fire that broke out in vast wilderness near Watsonville on Sunday has been contained to 1.7 acres as of 5 p.m., a spokesperson for Cal Fire said.
The fire was first reported on social media at 1:50 p.m. in the area of Mt. Madonna County Park and Pole Line Road. It was reported as burning 2 acres on steep terrain, making it challenging for Cal Fire crews.
Forward progress of the fire was stopped at 3:50 p.m., but Cal Fire said crews will remain through the night and even the next few days to mop up and monitor the situation due to the area's heavy timber fuel.
