Former Watsonville Mayor Announces County Supervisor Run

Former Watsonville Mayor Jimmy Dutra said that he will run a third time for the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors 4th District seat.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville City Councilmember Jimmy Dutra said Friday that he will run for a seat on the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors, The Pajaronian reports.

Dutra, who just completed his term as Watsonville’s first openly gay mayor, will run for the 4th District seat, currently occupied by Greg Caput. This will be Dutra’s third run for the seat, according to The Pajaronian.

In a video announcement posted Friday, Dutra said he wants to address homelessness, build farmworker housing, and advance infrastructure projects.
