Gang Member Arrested With Loaded, Stolen Gun
Watsonville police made the bust Tuesday morning.

For the second time in less than a week, Watsonville police seized a loaded gun from an alleged gang member during a traffic stop near downtown.
The latest arrest happened just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on Main Street and Riverside Drive when a police officer pulled over a silver 2002 Honda Accord for a vehicle code violation, police reported.
The driver, 19-year-old Marcos Gonzalez of Salinas, trembled and seemed nervous when officers spoke with him. Police said he admitted having marijuana in his car, which led them to detain him.
The loaded .45-caliber handgun was found hidden under the driver's seat of the car, police said. The gun had been reported stolen from Salinas.
Police said Gonzalez has been identified as a gang member in Monterey County. He was jailed on suspicion of gun possession, gang participation and possessing stolen property.
On Saturday, a 43-year-old suspected gang member was arrested for having a loaded gun in his truck during a traffic stop on Front Street, Watsonville police reported.
