Health Department Issues Advisory For All Monterey Co. Beaches
Health officials said the public should not to have contact with ocean water for three days after the latest rain.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Monterey County health officials issued a rain advisory this morning that advises the public not to have contact with ocean water for three days after the latest rain. The rain advisory applies to all Monterey County beaches as of 7:30 a.m. today and will be in effect at least until the three-day period is over.
The county health department recommends that people do not swim or have contact with storm drain water, as bacteria, viruses, protozoa or chemicals may contaminate that water and cause illness to anyone who comes into contact with it.
For more information on the Monterey Peninsula beaches, people can call a hotline at (800) 347-6363 or visit www.mtyhd.org/beaches.
